What FogliAI does

FogliAI is a web app that helps you track and care for your indoor and outdoor plants using AI-powered species identification, health assessments, and care reminders. An account (email or Google sign-in) is required to use the app.

Data we collect and how we use it

  • Account information — your email address and display name are stored in AWS Cognito (authentication) and AWS DynamoDB (user profile). If you sign in with Google, we also receive your Google profile name and picture URL.
  • Plant photos — uploaded to AWS S3 and sent to Claude (Anthropic's AI) via AWS Bedrock for species identification and health analysis. Photos are retained as long as your account is active so you can view your plant history.
  • Plant data — species, care schedules, health observations, and care events are stored in AWS DynamoDB and linked to your account. This data persists until you delete your account or individual plants.

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes.

Third-party services

  • AWS (Amazon Web Services) — hosts the backend infrastructure (API, authentication, storage, AI processing) in the EU (Ireland).
  • Anthropic / Claude — AI model used for plant identification and health assessments. Plant photos and data are sent to AWS Bedrock which runs the model. Anthropic's privacy policy applies.
  • Google Sign-In — if you choose to sign in with Google, your authentication is handled by Google and AWS Cognito. Google's privacy policy applies.
  • Cloudflare — DNS and analytics. Cloudflare Web Analytics is privacy-preserving and cookieless. Cloudflare's privacy policy applies.

Cookies

This site uses only functional cookies and local storage — no advertising or tracking cookies.

  • fogliai-auth — stores your authentication tokens in local storage to keep you signed in. Functional, exempt from consent.
  • fogliai-storage — stores your theme preference (light/dark) and current tab selection. Functional, exempt from consent.

Your rights

Under GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, or delete your personal data. You can delete individual plants from the app, or contact us to request full account deletion. Contact us at fogliai@proton.me.
